Using and creating custom chemistry and physics constant libraries
Constants are defined strict values that don’t change and are used in any number of calculations. Having all the necessary constants at your disposal is critical including unique ones that are specific to you. MatDeck can add your constants by quick defining them yourself or importing multiple constants.
Using and Creating Custom Constant Libraries: Defining MD constants

Users can quick add constants by defining them in the constants tab to the left. A beneficial feature of quick defining constants is that users can define constants unique and useful to them.
Constant names and values are directly entered to the Defined Constants lists. Adding your constants is done effortlessly by double clicking on them.
Constant groups can be set to make grouping and segregating different types of constants simpler.
Users can name constants to their liking or maintain traditional names.
Importing and creating custom chemistry and physics constants library file
Quick defining constants is best utilised when adding one or two constants however, when adding large numbers of constants, importing them is much faster.
When constants are imported, they are automatically recognised by MatDeck and integrated into the software. Now, when browsing available constants on MatDeck, all imported constants are present and ready to be added and used on any MatDeck document at any time.

By opening the settings on the constants tab, this window will open where users are prompted to add MatDeck files containing their defined constants. Adding constants via files is a very straightforward process.
Users first define a multitude of constants in another MatDeck file. Simply set a canvas and define constants by pressing on ‘Define Constants’ in Math tab.

Here, the constant is defined in the canvas in the MatDeck document as shown above. Any number of constants can be defined in a MatDeck canvas. Below, there is an example of a small custom constant file which can easily be imported.

Importing MatDeck constant file by Add File in Constant Settings tab or in Math Settings.
